Joan Mees

Joan R. Mees, 86, of Forsyth, IL passed away on Feb. 23, 2019 at Decatur Memorial Hospital; Decatur, IL. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 2:00pm at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Faith in Action or Heartland Hooves. Joan was born on March 2, 1932 in Homer, IL daughter of Lewis and Cora (Seany) Brummet. She married Harlan Clayton Mees on March 17, 1957 and he survives. Joan was a registered nurse at Decatur Memorial Hospital. She loved being a homemaker, a grandmother of 10 and a great-grandmother of 3. Her hobbies included knitting, and enjoying animals and nature. Joan was a member of the Forsyth Baptist Church. Joan is survived by her loving husband Harlan of Forsyth, IL; three children; David (Jean) Mees of Fishers, IN; Janeen (Ashi) Daftary of Pittsburgh, PA; and Melody Bass of Decatur, IL. Also surviving is one brother, Lyle (Margaret) Brummet of St. Joseph, IL. Joan is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
