Joan M. Koller, 82, of Decatur, passed away at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at Heartland Healthcare, Decatur. A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are assisting the family with the arrangements. Joan was born September 17, 1931, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Leonard W. and Phyllis (Rockwood) Johnson. She married Arthur Koller on August 26, 1949, in Chicago. Joan was a closing officer at Homestead Realty in Dalton, IL, then later a secretary with her husband at Joart Associates Company. She enjoyed bowling, playing Bridge and traveling with her husband, especially to the Lake Tahoe area. Joan also enjoyed hosting dinner parties in her home and was known as "Hostess with the most-est". Joan was cared for daily by her devoted husband, Arthur. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Arthur of Decatur; daughters: Lorie Klawitter and husband Jeff of Decatur; Jackie Lynn Purlee and husband Jim of Sacramento, CA; grandchildren: Michael and Alicia; great-granddaughters: Belle and Robyn; special niece: Cindy Polke and husband Tom and their sons, all of Homer Glen, IL; and several other nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Betty Braselton. "
