Joan Elizabeth Kenny, 80, of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at her residence.Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 15, 2016, at Grace United Methodist Church, Decatur, with visitation 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, August 14, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to service time at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Scovill Park Zoo.Joan was born February 2, 1936 in Mattoon, IL, the daughter of Delbert and Mable (Wilson) Young. She married Jack Kenny on December 11, 1955 in Decatur, IL.Joan was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was a substitute teacher for many years for Decatur School District #61. Golf was her passion and she was a member of many of the golf associations in the Decatur area. Joan also volunteered at Scovill Zoo for many years. Most of all, Joan enjoyed her grandchildren and attending their activities.She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jack of Decatur; children Janet (Tom) Murray of Hoffman Estates, IL, Jill (Craig) Booher of Arlington, TX; grandchildren Margaret (Blaine) Hogan, Colleen Murray, and T.J. Murray, all of Hoffman Estates, IL, Ryan (Tiffany) Booher of Burleson, TX, Jackie Booher of Fort Worth, TX; great grandchildren Ruby Hogan and Eloise Hogan of Hoffman Estates, IL.She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson Corey Booher.
