Joan E. Dagley, 78, of Decatur, IL, died 4:20 p.m., Thursday, November 28, 2013, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m, Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, December 2, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or National Kidney Foundation. Joan was born February 6, 1935, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Paul and Olive (Marshall) Basil. She married Donald L. Dagley on March 14, 1959 in Heyworth, IL. Joan enjoyed decorating cakes for 30 years. She was a school crossing guard for several years, PTA president, softball coach, and manager at Burger Chef. Joan loved square dancing and playing dominos and enjoyed her friends and family. She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, and friend. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Donald of Decatur; children Dave Dagley and wife Terri of Decatur, IL, Brenda Hubner and husband Steve of Henton, IL, Terri Coughlin of Oakley, IL; 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren; brothers Charles Basil and wife Ninette of Seymour, IN, Ray Basil of Senora, TX, Floyd Basil and wife Becky of Decatur, IL; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Chet Basil, and son-in-law Terry Coughlin. "
