Jo Ann Kestner, 92, of Decatur, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mt. Pulaski, IL.
Jo Ann was born on January 7, 1932, in Cerro Gordo, IL, the daughter of the late Jesse Dewey and Lucile (Warmoth) Baker. She married Robert E. Kestner on June 22, 1956, and he preceded her in death on February 14, 2007.
Jo Ann and her husband Robert owned and operated several small businesses in the Decatur area.
Jo Ann is survived by two daughters, Angela A.(Robert) Wetzel and Janet E. Kestner, both of Decatur; three grandchildren William J. “Will” (Tiffany), Alex (Sara), and Tim; great-granddaughter, Ava Wetzel; and four siblings, Lucile Warnhoff, Betty Valentine, Ilene Johnston, and Mary Valentine; and many nieces and nephews.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, Jack (Jesse Jr.) Baker, Ted Baker, Harvey Baker, Bill Baker, Robert Baker, John Baker, and Tom Baker; and two sisters, Norabell Baker and Ethel Boggs.
Arrangements are being handled by Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home of Decatur. Per Jo Ann’s wishes, cremation rites were performed. A celebration of life for JoAnn and Bob Kestner will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the American Legion Post 117, 220 Wait St., Cerro Gordo, IL, 61818
