Jimmie Joe Wood, 74, of Decatur, IL. passed away on Sunday (06-30-2013) at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 5, 2013 at New Life Tabernacle Church, Macon, IL. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 PM Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to: New Life Tabernacle Church Youth Building Fund, Macon, IL. Jimmie was born on July 26, 1938 in Belknap, IL., the son of William Wood and Flora (Thorne) Wood. He married Patricia Ruthann Short on April 10, 1964 in Joppa, IL. Jimmie was a member of New Life Tabernacle Church, Macon, IL., He served in the U. S. Army. Jimmie worked in housekeeping at Akorn from May 2006 to the present. He enjoyed leather work, computer gaming, and loved music and singing. He is survived by his wife Patricia Ruthann Wood of Decatur, IL.; Daughter Terina Green (Leon) of Decatur, IL.; Brother Paul Wood of Alabama; Two Sisters Margaret Ragsdale of Sebring, Florida and Sharon Sullivan; Grandchildren Xavier Lewis, Cheyenne Lewis, and Joshua Lewis. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers: Harold Wood, Hubert Wood, and John William Wood, Jr. And one sister, Morlon Ragsdale. "
