Jill Bohn

Jill worked at various Decatur businesses including the Herald & Review, the Business Journal, Decatur Memorial Hospital and Decatur Memorial Foundation. While working for the DMH Foundation, she was instrumental in the creation and completion of the DMH Family Lodge. She also taught in the Cerro Gordo school district, 1973 - 1976.She was a 1968 graduate of MacArthur High School and 1972 graduate of Eastern Illinois University, B.S. Education. In 2000 Jill became certified in Fund Raising Management from Indiana University Center on Philanthropy.Jill had talents and passion for home design/decorating, flower gardening, fashion and cooking. She shared this talent with many others. Jill was a very spiritual person and nurtured a personal relationship with Jesus. She celebrated and cherished her identity first and foremost as a child of God. She is now at home with Jesus.Angels brought me here: December 26, 1950.Angels brought me home: March 28, 2011.Survivors include: Nancy Curtin, best friend/soul mate/caregiver; Sandy Cole, best friend of 44 years; friends, Jane Severns and Mallory Vincent; Step-father, Robert Deister; Sisters, Jan (Bill) Lorenz and Judy Farmer; Godchildren, Jill & Thomas Alwardt & Jared Cole; Nephew/Godchild, Brant Hindman; Nephews, Steve & Brian Farmer. Jill also leaves behind her beloved pets, Golden Retriever, Libby and cat, Kit Kat.Her mother, Hope Deister, preceded her in death.Visitation will be 5 to 8 P.M., Friday, April 1, at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 500 S. 27th Street, Decatur, IL 62521. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, Decatur, IL. Burial will follow immediately at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL.
