Jerry Gandy

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 2, 2009, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 5 to 7 P.M., Thursday, October 1, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur, IL. The family requests casual attire. Memorials may be made to Forward in Faith Program at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Jerry was born February 2, 1940, in Clinton, IL, the son of Lawrence and Hazel Marguerite (Oakley) Gandy. He married Connie Sparks on December 2, 1978, in Decatur, IL.Jerry became a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in 1984 and was a Leader of the Royal Ambassadors. He worked in maintenance at Tabernacle Baptist Church, retiring in 2001. Jerry enjoyed fishing, playing the drums and was a die hard Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan.He is survived by his wife Connie of Decatur; children Farrah Pajak of Decatur; Jerry Lynn (Lourdes) Gandy of Dublin, OH; Elizabeth Gandy of Chicago, IL; Jennifer Morris of Downers Grove, IL; grandchildren Tim, Jon, and Joseph Pajak, Jordan Morris, Melissa, Jerry and Tyler Gandy; brother Jim (Judy) Gandy of Decatur; sister-in-law Carol (Bud) Ashcraft of Mt. Zion, IL; brothers-in-law Bill (Norma) Sparks of Cerro Gordo, IL, Bob Sparks of Decatur.He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws Wayne and Elzora Sparks. "
