Jerry Durflinger

Jerry L. Durflinger, 70, of Mt. Auburn, IL, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018, in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, in Harristown Cemetery, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Jerry was born September 26, 1948, in Harristown, IL, son of George Frederick and Betty Louise (Koonce) Durflinger. He married Sandra Jean Erwin on June 8, 1968, in Harristown. Jerry was a member of Berea Christian Church in Mt. Auburn. He was retired from A.E. Staley as a millwright. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandy; children: Jeff (Dorothy) Durflinger, Jeri (Mike) Leeper, all of Mt. Auburn, and Jon (Jennifer) Durflinger of Decatur; grandchildren: Austin, Kyle and Kirsten; step-grandchildren: Holly and Tim; siblings: Janet Durflinger of Springfield, IL, Jim (Linda) Durflinger, and Judy (Mike) Brown, all of Decatur. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
