Jerry L. Decker, 78, of Forsyth, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
No services will be held at Jerry’s request. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jerry was born March 29, 1946 in Sweetwater, TX, the son of Homer and Vernus “Marie” (Bowman) Decker. He married Elaine Jarvis, on November 20, 1990 in Las Vegas. Jerry was a chemical engineer for Tate and Lyle and retired from Cargill in Eddyville, IA. He collected clocks and was an avid reader. Jerry loved travel and worked for 5 years in the Netherlands. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church where he served as Choir Director for 5 years.
Surviving are his wife of 33 ½ years, Elaine Decker; sister, Judy (Wayne) Powell , one niece and two nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Decker; an infant sister; and niece, Rebecca Gobel.
