Visitation: 9:00 AM on August 13, 2011 Funeral: 10:00 AM on August 13, 2011 O'Connor, Jerome Lawrence, of Decatur, died August 11, 2011, at Imboden Creek Living Center, Decatur, IL. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 13, 2011, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 16, in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School. Jerome was born November 14, 1927 in Springfield, IL, the son of L. Dewey O'Connor and Audrey Lucricia (Sutton) O'Connor. He joined the United States Marine Corps after graduating from Decatur High School. He formerly worked at Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store, Wabash Railroad, and retired from Norfolk and Western Railway. He was a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church, the Banana Splits Club, and a founding member of the Illinois State Fair Butter Cow Fan Club. He married Patricia Anne Williams in 1951. She preceded him in death in 2009. Survivors include his children Anne L. (Ken) Kurzawski of Manchaca, TX, Mark J. (Barbara) O'Connor, John Boy (Yvonne) O'Connor, both of Decatur, Mary Lynn ( Richard Heise) O'Connor of St. Charles, MO, and Jean P. O'Connor of Decatur; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Audrey Isla Payne, of Urbana; special friends Bella and Tulip O'Connor. His parents and his brother, Robert, preceded him in death. "
