Jeremy Sean Sills, 38, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away on October 19, 2023. Jeremy was born on January 4, 1985 in Decatur, IL and grew up in rural Oakley, IL. He attended Cerro Gordo schools and graduated in 2003. He went on to attend Bradley University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in art.
After college he went to work for Jimmy John’s as a store manager, winning manager of the year at the convention in Las Vegas and was awarded a Rolex watch. He moved to Omaha, NE in 2015 and continued to work for Jimmy John’s. In December of 2022, he moved to Ooltewah, TN to be closer to his parents.
In the summer of 2003, he traveled to Europe and visited several countries. In 2017, he spent three weeks in New Zealand where he bungee jumped and skydived.
Jeremy loved music of all kinds and along with his best friend from high school formed the band Victims of Chaos. They played at many local venues and recorded two CDs. He loved football and cheered for his favorite teams the Atlanta Falcons and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Jeremy is survived by his parents, Perry (Kim) Sills of Ooltewah, TN and Cindy (Jeff) Olesen of Pekin, IL; two brothers, Chris (Jamie) Sills of Plattsmouth, NE and Jon (Brandy) Sills of Decatur, IL. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and his faithful companions, Jack and Zero.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
The family would like to welcome friends to a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 2-4pm at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Cerro Gordo, IL. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 4pm.
