Jeremy Malone

Jeremy R. Malone, 34, of Decatur, IL, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, IL.

Graveside service will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 13, at Cerro Gordo Cemetery.
Memorials in Jeremy’s honor may be made to: Gift of Hope or Rush University Medical Center.

Jeremy was born November 7, 1988 in Decatur, IL, the son of Chris and Julie (Sawyer) Malone.

Jeremy’s greatest accomplishment was being Aiden’s dad. He thoroughly enjoyed being with his son Aiden, going to games and attending Aiden’s activities. They also loved traveling together. Jeremy worked as a welder for 5 years at Caterpillar, Inc. and also worked for ADM Railcar. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, hiking and especially loved gardening. Jeremy was a member of Argenta Lodge 871 AF & AM.

Jeremy is survived by his son, Aiden; parents: Chris and Julie Malone of Cerro Gordo; brothers: Bryan (Jennifer) Malone of Cerro Gordo, Cory (Avery) Malone of Dandridge, TN; grandparents: Gale Sawyer, Rolland and Donna Malone.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his grandmother, Linda Sawyer.

The family wishes to extend their deep gratitude to Gift of Hope and Dr. Chen at Rush University Medical Center, for their special care and comfort given to Jeremy.
