Visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with a graveside service following at 10:45 a.m. at Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, IL.Memorials may be made to Glad Tidings Missions.Jean was born to Leo and Alta Knapp Ritchie in Cerro Gordo on October 5, 1924. Her husband Wassily Sommer preceded her in death in 1978. Jean and Wassily shared the gift of painting and were well known in the Anchorage, Alaska area. Jean had the artists eye for the beauty of Gods creation and expressed it through her art.Jean is survived by her sisters Shirley Ritchie, Sandy Sheets (Larry Sheets and family); nephew Mike Ritchie; niece Jennifer Bartram (Dan); and great nephews Mat and Greg Ritchie.Jean was preceded in death by her brother Robert Ritchie and nephew Rick Ritchie. She will be laid to rest near family in Cerro Gordo. "
