Jean Pehrson

September 29, 1923 — November 13, 2019

Jean Pehrson (96) passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, November 13, 2019, while under hospice care in Decatur, Illinois. Jean was a WWII veteran and will be interred next to her Navy veteran husband, Richard “Dick” Pehrson at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Riverton, IL. Per her request, there will only be a closed casket Military service at Camp Butler. Honor Guard Services are planned for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the cemetery. Jean was born September 29, 1923, in Clarksburg, Illinois to Bryan and Margaret Miller. She worked at the Signal Corps when it was in Decatur, and at General Electric, and was a volunteer for 26 years at DMH, usually in the emergency room. “Jeannie” was well known and well loved. Jean is survived by her son Richard “Dick” Pehrson and her great-grandson Andrew Pehrson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Dick” Pehrson, her parents, Bryan and Margaret Miller, sisters Doris Miller and Ruth Miller Stewart Fair, and only grandson Kyle Pehrson. Special thanks to Sue and Denny Reinhart, the providers of years of loving local care. Sue has been and always will be our lifeline to Mom. Jean had a long and meaningful life, positively impacting many people over the decades. She was strong and so very proud to be a WWII Navy Veteran. Rest in peace Mom. We love you……..
