Jay Allen Farris, 27, of Decatur, IL, died Monday, September 29, 2014. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Memorials may be made to the family. Jay was born October 24, 1986, in Decatur, IL, the son of Jon Steven Farris and Lisa Ann (Smith) Irvin. Jay worked in the shipping and receiving department at Union Iron Works. Surviving are his mother Lisa of Decatur, IL; father Jon of Phoenix, AZ; brothers Joshua Smith and Jason Farris, both of Decatur, IL; nieces Marissa Smith and Mayci Fulk of Decatur, IL. Jay is preceded in death by his grandparents and step-father Ronald Irvin. "
