Ada Janet Eads, 87, of Oakley, IL, passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side, Thursday, December 21, 2023.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon, Friday, December 29, at Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church with visitation 10:00 am – 12:00 noon at the church. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Janet’s honor may be made to: Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church or ALS Foundation.
Janet was born April 7, 1936, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Mervin B. and Naomi (Shinneman) Hiser. She married Rodger Eads on January 21, 1956.
Janet was a member of Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church. She was a devoted farm wife and enjoyed gardening. She loved being with family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Rodger; son, Glenn (Kathy) Eads of Cerro Gordo; grandchildren: Rachel (Zach) Collins of Monticello, Jordyn (Joey) Bussman of Peoria; sisters: Joan Myers and Dorothy Albert.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Margie Zimmerman.
The family would like to give special thanks to Elara Hospice, especially Eileen, and special caregiver Annette, for all their loving care and compassion given to Janet.
