James Weeden Wood, 51, of Altamont, died due to complications resulting from cardiac arrest, with his family by his side, Sunday, January 22, 2012, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield. Funeral services will be 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo, with visitation from 4:00 until service time. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. James was born September 17, 1960, the son of James C. and Wanda L. (Clendenen) Wood. He worked as a communications technician, and was a U.S. Navy veteran. James was an amateur HAM radio operator. He was a talented musician and enjoyed playing the guitar, banjo, and mandolin with his father, family, and friends, riding motorcycles, and loved his Harley-Davidson. James was a past member of ABATE, and recently learned how to garden and can peaches. He is survived by his sons: Timothy James Wood and wife Rachel of Oreana and Paul Foster Wood of Warrensburg; companion JoAnn Eidson of Altamont; grandchildren: Jacob, Dominic, Peyton, Madyson, Sean, Damion, Emily, and Caitlyn; sisters: Penny O'Dell and husband Kenny of Decatur, Becky Foley and husband Gary of Decatur, Jane Wood of Decatur, and Cheryl Rossio and husband Doug of Macomb; brother Duane Wood of Jefferson City, MO; many caring nieces and nephews.
