James L. Twist, 77, of Forsyth, IL, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, IL. Memorials may be made to Forsyth United Methodist Church. James was born July 3, 1935, in DeWitt, IL, the son of Ottis and Eula (Forbes) Twist. He married Mary Floyd on December 24, 1957, in Monticello, IL. James was a member of Forsyth United Methodist Church where he was an active volunteer. He was a former member of the Argenta-Oreana school board, Whitmore Township park board, and Jaycee's Club. James was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired as management from Bridgestone Firestone. James enjoyed woodworking and gardening, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Illini basketball fan. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Mary of Forsyth; son Rod Twist of London, England; grandsons Nicholas (Meghan) Twist and Zachary Twist, all of Midland, TX; brothers Bill (Mary) Roberts of Normal, IL, Frank (Delores) Roberts of Danvers, IL, and Richard (Kathy) Roberts of Buford, S.C. James was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bob Roberts. "
