James Harrelson

January 16, 1950 — June 5, 2010

Dave was a graduate of Maroa Forsyth High School.He worked at Borg Warner almost 17 years until they closed. After the closing of Borg Warner , he became Co-Owner of Precision Trailers Inc. He designed and built race car trailers for many drivers in Illinois and many other states. He loved racing cars. In his earlier years drag racing was his passion. After he stopped racing he became involved in stock cars. He was a big Jeff Gordon fan, but his first love was drag racing. He enjoyed and took great pride in helping his friend Donnie Little on Nicoles car sometimes.In the last years he also became an avid fisherman. He spent most of the time camping and fishing on Lake Taylorville with good buddies, Mark, James and brother-in-law Mel. Dave loved having cook outs with his sister Nancy or tricking her into buying his lunch. Dave is survived by his wife and friend Linda of 30 years and three children and ten grandchildren. Son, Rodney Harrelson and wife, Becky and grandsons, Tyler, Justin, Brandon and Cody. Daughter, Traci and husband, Nick Davenport and grandsons, Devvon and Max. Son, Brandon Harrelson and wife, Becky and four grandchildren, Jamie, Sam, Rachael and Gabe.He also leaves his mother, Shirley Coffman Cox, sister, Nancy Roady and husband, Mel. Along with many special nieces and nephews and two greatnieces; aunts and uncles.The family would like to give a special thank you to good friends Donnie, James and Mark and to his best friend of 44 years Dale for all they did for him.Dave was always so proud of his grandchildren and so happy when they would come to the lake to play and fish with him. They will miss and love him forever. Dave was most proud of his children Rod, Traci, and Brandon. He considered them his best accomplishment in life. Dave would want to give special thanks to Dale for all his free car details.Dave loved his dogs Tinker and Sonny.We would also like to thank Pastor Brown for the talks he had with Dave, it seemed to put him at peace with everything.Funeral service at 1;00 PM, Wednesday at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, visitation will be Tuesday, 6-8:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maroa Cemetery, Maroa, IL.Memorials maybe made to Harrelson Family. The family requests casual attire. "
