James Green

James C. Green, 73, of Decatur, IL, passed away Monday, November 11, 2019, in his home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Monday, November 18, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Decatur, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time, at the church. There will also be a service held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23, at Marks Funeral Chapel, Magnolia, AR, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rudd Cemetery, Magnolia. Memorials may be made to Educational Ministry, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Decatur. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family with the arrangements. James was born October 9, 1946, in Magnolia, AR, son of Curnis and Doris (Hayes) Green. He married Deloris M. Pickens November 26, 1971, in Magnolia. James was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam era. He graduated from University of Arkansas in Pine Bluff, AR. James worked for G.M.A.C., retiring in 2002 after 30 years of service, then was a substitute teacher for Decatur School District #61 until 2018. He was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and served on the transportation committee, and was also a member of Frontiers International. James was a sports fan and enjoyed watching many sporting events, and was an avid reader. James is survived by his wife Deloris of Decatur; son Jerod D. Green and wife Shikinah of Clinton, MS; granddaughter Makail M. Green and grandson Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents. "
