James William Frydenger, 82, of Cerro Gordo, IL., passed away on January 26, 2024.
A Funeral Service, with Masonic Rites, will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11

at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. Visitation will be held at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. Jim was born on February 6, 1941 to William and Mary (Camden) Frydenger in Decatur, IL. James was a graduate of Cerro Gordo High School, Class of 1959. James married the love of his life, Sandra Inman, on December 5, 1959. He attended Millikin University and got his degree in Business. He went on to work for Staley’s as a pipefitter and dedicated 33 years there. After his retirement, he then went on to work for the Macon County Conservation District for over 20 years.
He is survived by his children: William "Bud" Frydenger (Ruth), Rebecca Brown (Patrick), Joe Frydenger (Kelly), and Jason Frydenger (Julie); 10 grandchildren: Amanda Aubert, Christopher Frydenger, Nick Brown, Paul Brown, Sydney Frydenger, Adam Frydenger, Grace Frydenger, Austin Frydenger, Madison Frydenger, Claire Frydenger, ; 8 great-grandchildren: Tia Frydenger, Attley and Mark Aubert, Reagan and Isaac McKenna-Brown, Hutch Thomason, Hudson Malone, and Mac Mense; and 4 great-great-grandchildren: Kallum Spears and Karolyne, Zakkary, and Thomas Kochel. He is also survived by his siblings: Donna Bilyeu (Paul), Thomas Frydenger (Adrienne), and Betty Witters; brother-in-law, Russell York; 2 uncles: Barney and George Camden; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was a member of the Cerro Gordo Masonic Lodge #600, Knights Templar Bement #65, and The Cerro Gordo Church of the Brethren. Jim was an avid Cubs fan. He also loved to cheer on the Fighting Illini and Chicago Bears. He was a talented gardener. He enjoyed his crossword and Sudoku puzzles. Most of all, his family was his everything. He will be truly missed.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Sandra; and his sister, Mary Jo York.
