Memorial services will be 3:00 P.M., Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.James was born May 13, 1946, in Poplar Bluff, MO, the son of Ralph and Lola (Spears) England. He married Sheryl Wells in Granite City, IL in 1977. James worked as a Crisis Intervention Counselor for Mental Health in Cape Girardeau, MO, Ten Care (Mental Health State Insurance) in Nashville, TN for 10 years, Rehabilitation Counselor for Head Injury Unit at Riverside Hospital in Kankakee, IL, Social Service Counselor at St. Marys Hospital, and formerly drove the Bookmobile. He was the #142 Heart Recipient in 1992 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. James was Downstate Affiliate President of Diabetes Association for 3 terms and was involved in Special Olympics and worked with Developmentally Disabled. James enjoyed skydiving and reading books, loved all kinds of music and art and loved learning vast areas of interest. He loved his two dogs China and Abby and Angel, the white dove.He is survived by his wife Sheryl of Decatur, IL; mother Lola Dunn of Marion, IL; son Glen (Cindy) England of Pontoon Beach, IL; daughter Shelly (Greg) Anderson of Decatur, IL; daughter Tricia Planitz of Portland, TN; grandchildren Josh and Asyalee; brother Glen (Patty) England of Lexington, SC; special nieces and nephews; special friends Craig and Peggy Fogal, Brenda Turner and Mary White.He was preceded in death by his father.
