James S. "Jim" Delaney, 80, of Forsyth, IL, passed away at 1:25 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Decatur. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 28, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Illiopolis, IL. Military rites will be conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Korean War Veterans Association. Jim was born December 8, 1933, in Decatur, IL, the son of Charles Bernard and Vivian Grace (Heise) Delaney. He married Carol Anne Jackman on January 2, 1960, in Niantic, IL. She preceded him in death on October 31, 2011. Jim attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a union electrician for over 60 years and worked at Caterpillar for over 35 years, retiring in 1999. Jim was a member of I.B.E.W., Elks Club, Korean War Veterans Association, Delta Sigma Phi, and a former board member at Warrensburg-Latham School District. Jim enjoyed golfing. Surviving are his children Mike Delaney and wife Jackie of Lees Summit, MO, Kristin C. Maurer and husband Greg of Lawrence, KS, and Suzanne Neff and husband Matthew of Orlando, FL. Also surviving are his grandchildren Matthew Delaney, Ethan Delaney, Garrett Maurer, Sabrina Neff; sister Nancy Luckenbill and husband Fred of Rock Island, IL; and brother Dennis Delaney and wife Patty of Lebanon, IN. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol, and sister Peggy Bruce. "
