James Blocher

James M. Blocher, D.D.S., 59, of Decatur, died Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-8 P.M. Wednesday, September 13, and one hour prior from 9-10 A.M. Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.Jim was born July 15, 1958, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Louis and Adelaide (Hertrich) Blocher. He was a dentist for 29 years, and retired in November 2013. Jim liked bowling, golf, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He is survived by his son Alexander “Alex” Blocher of Warrensburg; brother John Blocher (Brenda) of Festus, Mo; girlfriend Connie Hartman of Forsyth. Jim was preceded in death by his parents.The family would like to give a special thanks to Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois in Decatur and the staff of the Cardiac ICU 5th floor unit at DMH.
