James Michael Bingham, 69, of Decatur, IL, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017 at his residence.A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Friday, November 10, at First Baptist Church, Mt. Zion, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mary E. Bingham in care of Busey Bank. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family.James was born October 21, 1948, in Memphis, TN, son of James Earl and Leuna Eunice (Davis) Bingham. He married Mary Ellen Scott June 30, 1967, in Mt. Zion, IL.James was a machinist at Norfolk and Western Railroad and Caterpillar, private detective at Cenois, assistant supervisor over security at Tate & Lyle, and then a security officer at DMH. He was a member of Masonic Lodge Macon #8. James enjoyed fishing and hunting.Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Mary, of Decatur; son, Michael David Bingham and wife Kathy of Mt. Zion; daughter, Julie Michelle Bingham-Nihiser and husband Charles of Decatur; grandchildren, Aric, Nathan, Michaela, Xander, and Zakk; great-grandson, Cain; brother-in-law Robert Butler and wife Joan of Decatur.James was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Jeannie Michelle Bingham.
