Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 22, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lester Barnett Cemetery, Decatur, IL.Jack was born on November 19, 1938, in Decatur, IL, the son of Ethel E. and Elsie (Redmond) Matherly. He married Barbara R. Burcham in 1982, in Decatur.Jack was the owner of Jack Matherly Construction. He enjoyed Quarter Horse racing.Surviving are his wife Barbara of Decatur, IL; son Jackie James Matherly, Jr. (Brenda); daughter Michelle Kay Matherly of Sullivan, IL; stepchildren Sharon Kay Hensen of Decatur, IL, Richard Dwayne (Raquel) Springman of Bartonville, IL, Jennifer Jo Springman-Bricker of Decatur, IL; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brother Leonard D. (Ruth) Matherly of Nancy, KY; sisters Patricia (Wayne) Park of Nancy, KY, and Carolyn (Fred) Barnett of Latham, IL. Jack was preceded in death by his parents.
