Jack Hockaday, 87, of Forsyth, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at Hickory Point Christian Village. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Forsyth Baptist Church. Visitation will be 4-7 P.M. Friday, October 23, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, and 9-10 A.M. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to Forsyth Baptist Church. Jack was born April 5, 1928, in Forsyth, the son of Harold and Nellie May (Gillen) Hockaday. He married Rebecca L. Jennings in Decatur on July 28, 1950. Jack worked at G.E. for 27 years and worked at Seasonall for 5 years. He was also a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War. Jack was an avid fisherman, and loved gardening and walking at the mall. He enjoyed following the grandkid's activities, and loved anything to do with family. Jack loved the Lord and was a charter member of Forsyth Baptist Church since 1961. He served there as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and custodian. Jack is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rebecca of Forsyth; sons David Hockaday and wife Lynn of Wausaukee, WI, Dennis Hockaday and wife Donna of Lincoln, IL, and John Hockaday and wife Cheryl of Forsyth; brother Jim Hockaday and wife Phyllis of Forsyth; sister-in-law Norma Hockaday of Tuscon, AZ; 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and three brothers. "
