Jack Bratton

Jack Robert “Rob” Bratton, 63, of Cerro Gordo, IL, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019, in his home. A private family service will be held. Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois. Rob was born June 7, 1955, in Decatur, IL, son of Iona Etoile (Wilkey) Bratton. He married Kathy Lu Sawyer July 12, 1973 in Argenta. She preceded him in death December 28, 1994. He then married Jean Marie Cripe October 11, 1997, in Cerro Gordo. Rob was Director of Public Works for Cerro Gordo for 24 ½ years, Township Supervisor for 17 years and was a Township Trustee. He served on the Cerro Gordo Fire Dept. for 16 years and the ambulance service in Cerro Gordo as a driver for several years. Rob loved farming. Surviving are his wife Jean of Cerro Gordo; daughters: Kelly Renee Bratton and husband Hilal Amarri of Orlando, FL, and Lindsey Ann Blomgren and husband Scott of Cerro Gordo; step-son: Robert Allen Cripe of Danville, IL; grandchildren: Ethan Isaiah Cripe, Mehmet Cemil Gunaydin, Leyla Catherine Gunaydin, Noah Scott Blomgren, Khadijah Nur Amairi, Bethany, Michaela, and Joshua Blomgren; sisters: Carolyn Ann Lippay and husband Thomas of Philadelphia, PA, and Linda Sue Bratton of Cerro Gordo; and brother: John Bratton of Decatur, IL. Rob was preceded in death by his mother, first wife Kathy Lu, and sister Patricia Sanchez.
