Iza Gongadze, 73, of Sullivan, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025 with her family by her side.
Private family services will be held. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family.
Iza was born August 5, 1951 in Tbilisi, Georgia, the daughter of Alex and Vera Gongadze. She married Giorgi Zaalishvili. Iza loved working in her garden and growing flowers. She loved to cook and was an excellent cook. Iza also was a good seamstress and loved sewing.
Surviving are her husband, Giorgi of Sullivan; daughter, Lika (Jeremy) Crabtree of Decatur; son, Davit (Tamuna Beridze) Zaalishvili of New Jersey; grandchildren: Natalie Shafer, Gabriella Shafer, Saba Zaalishvili and Sandro Zaalishvili; sisters: Meri Gongadze and Nino Gongadze; and brother, Jumberi Gongadze.
Iza was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Vitali Gongadze.
