Ivan Jones

Ivan D. Jones, 94, of Cerro Gordo, IL, died 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at McKinley Court Care Center. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo, IL. Masonic services will be conducted by the Cerro Gordo Masonic Lodge #600 AF & AM, prior to the start of the service. Visitation will be 12:00 - 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 28, at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Bement Township Cemetery, Bement, IL. Memorials may be made to Donor's Choice. Ivan was born August 13, 1917, in Cerro Gordo, IL, the son of Revie Earl and Myrtle (Shoemaker) Jones. He married Gladys B. Stevens Webb on March 6, 1969 in Taylorville, IL. She preceded him in death on October 4, 2008. Ivan was a member of Church of the Brethren, Cerro Gordo, IL. He farmed all of his life, retiring after 50 years. Ivan was a member of Cerro Gordo Masonic Lodge #600 AF & AM and a 70 year member of Odd Fellows. He is survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; sisters Helen A. Jones of Forsyth, IL, Evelyn (Francis) Barr of Ft. Wayne, IN; brother Denver (Lucille) Jones of Plymouth, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gladys, daughter Judy Ann, son Ivan Harvey Jones, and brothers Earl, Russell, Bill, and Ralph Jones, and sister Ruth Traxler.
