Irene Lorett, 94, of Decatur passed away January 10, 2023.
Graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Irene was born February 27, 1928 in Frazer, KY, the daughter of Earl and Betty (Catron) Atkinson. She married Stanley Mercer and he preceded her in death. Irene was a devoted farm wife who assisted her husband on their farm. She enjoyed horses, antiques, and sewing. Irene was a fan of country music. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Irene is survived by her grandchildren: Melissa (David) Miles of Cerro Gordo, Christina Mercer, and Jerod Mercer; and great-granddaughter, Megan Vail (Jennifer Petagno) of Boody.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Mike Mercer; daughter, Frankie Mercer; and 13 brothers and sisters.
