Irene Eubanks

Irene Eubanks, 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at the
Eastern Star Home in Macon IL.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur. Visitation for Irene will be Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with Order of the Eastern Star Service at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery in Warrensburg. Memorial contributions to the Illini Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.

Irene was born on January 15, 1933 to William H and Ruby (Fricks) Pace in McAlester,
Oklahoma. She married Thomas Eubanks on December 23, 1951 in Omaha, IL. They were long
time residents of Warrensburg IL until moving to the Eastern Star Home in 2020. Irene enjoyed
being a wife and homemaker and worked part-time while the girls were in school at Lehn’s Café
in Warrensburg. She also served as Illini Township Clerk for many years.
Irene was a member of Illini Congregational Church and Illini Chapter #813 Order of the Eastern
Star, both in Warrensburg. She served as a State officer for Eastern Star in 2012. Many of her
hobbies included quilting, knitting, crocheting, cross-stitch, gardening, puzzles and watching
hummingbirds. She had a huge collection of hummingbird and cardinal figurines and Tweety
birds. She was an avid St Louis Cardinals fan and rarely missed watching a game.
Irene is survived by her husband, Tom; daughters Cindy Hundley of Warrensburg, Angie
Eubanks of Decatur and their Foreign Exchange Student, Carmen Soto of Arauco, Chile; sisters
Dora Haynes of Middleburg FL, Ann Reynolds of Niantic and Mary Mullen of Fort Collins CO
plus many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother John Pace and sisters Elaine Pace and June
Elliott.

The family wants to thank the staff at the Eastern Star Home for the excellent care provided these
last 3 years. Mom (Irene) or Granny as they loved to call her, enjoyed picking on the staff and
then giggling when they picked back.
