Ina L. Damery, 100, of Decatur, died Friday May 24, 2024 at Primrose Retirement Center.
A memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Grace Methodist Church. Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Saturday at the church. Private family burial will be in Hall Cemetery, Blue Mound. Memorials in Ina’s honor may be made to Grace Methodist Church, 901 N Main St, Decatur, IL 62523.
Ina was born July 2, 1923 in Blue Mound, the daughter of Roy and Berniece (Glasford) Tadlock. She married Cleatus Damery October 18, 1942 in Blue Mound. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2017.
Ina was a proficient china painter and a member of the China Painting Guild. She also loved growing roses, winning Best of Show at the Macon County Fair. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Golden K Kiwanis Club of Decatur, and the Blue Mound Chapter of Eastern Star.
She is survived by two daughters: Gay L. Scherer of Lawrence, KS and Cinda C. Divjak and husband, David of Ballwin, MO; 5 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Ina was preceded in death by her husband, Cleatus; parents; son-in-law, Jerome Scherer; and one great-granddaughter.
