Imogene Bingamon

Imogene Bingamon, 91, of Decatur, died Friday, February 1, 2013, at McKinley Court Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 4, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Visitation will be 3-5 P.M. Sunday, February 3, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta. Memorials may be made to McKinley Court Care Center Activity Dept. Mrs. Bingamon was born at home in northern Hickory Point Township, Macon County, IL, on September 11, 1921, the daughter of Wendell and Florence (Evey) Malone. She married Wallace E. "Bing" Bingamon June 4, 1946. He preceded her in death February 2, 2000. Mrs. Bingamon graduated from Brown's Business College in Shelbyville. She then worked as a personal banker at Citizen's National Bank in Decatur, IL for over thirty years, and retired in 1986. She enjoyed volunteering at Decatur Memorial Hospital from 1986-2000. Mrs. Bingamon was also a member of Forsyth United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, Gary L. Bingamon and wife Donna of Decatur; Robert Bingamon and wife Sue of Fort Wayne, IN; Steve Bingamon and wife Cheryl of Decatur; grandchildren, Matthew Bingamon and wife Kristin of Huntertown, IN; Mark Bingamon and wife Hannah of Pierceton, IN; Sara Smith and husband Josh of Huntington, IN; Mindy Backes and husband Jon of Decatur; brother, Bob Malone and wife Rosemary of Forsyth; great grandchildren, Lydia Bingamon and Clara Bingamon, both of Huntertown, IN; Drew and Tate Bingamon of Pierceton, IN. Mrs. Bingamon was preceded in death by her parents and husband. The family would like to thank the nurses at DMH 4100, and especially, the entire staff at the McKinley Court Care Center for the loving care that Imogene received in her later years. "
