Ida Mae (Fetters) Tackett, 88, of Decatur, passed away April 28, 2020, at Fair Havens Senior Living in Decatur. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 1, at Boiling Springs Cemetery in Decatur. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, is assisting the family with arrangements. Ida was born on April 18, 1932, in Wheatland Township, Fayette County, Illinois, the daughter of Frankie M. and Antoinette F. (Gross) Fetters. Ida married Dale Tackett Sr. on February 25, 1950. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1999. Ida loved her family, church family, and serving God. She was a people person who loved being outside with nature and flowers. She loved working in her yard and planting flowers, especially unusual varieties. She once had a Venus flytrap, which was quite an interesting plant. Ida was also an animal lover and always had dogs and cats as furry friends. Ida was mostly a stay-at-home mom. She only had four different part-time sales jobs while raising her children. Surviving are her children: Mary Rector, Jeannie Hutchins (Dave), Twyla Whittington, Dale Tackett Jr., and Tanya Dion. She was the very proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson James Holcomb III.
