Howard Overlin

Howard R. Overlin, 84, of Decatur passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018.A service to honor and celebrate Howard’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 650 N Wyckles Rd. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at 10:00 before the funeral. Howard will be laid to rest in Fairlawn Cemetery next to his wife. Memorial contributions may be directed to Tabernacle Baptist Church. Howard was born March 17, 1934 in Moweaqua, IL the son of Donald and Lela (Maxwell) Overlin. He proudly served in the United States Army. Howard retired from Nabisco Co. as a warehouse supervisor. He was an avid fisherman and was a kind and gentle man.Howard is survived by his children, Carol Stokes of Decatur, Stephen Overlin of Decatur; brother, Jerry (Karen) Overlin; sisters, Mary (David) Hanley, Norma Barton and Carol (Don) Peer.He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane, his parents; brothers, Donald Wayne and Merritt Overlin; infant sister, Shirley; and son-in-law, Richard Stokes.
