Howard Cooper, 75, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy (Melnik) Cooper, daughters Kim Cooper (Oded Cohen) and Kelly Cooper (Michael Lee), grandchildren Ethan and Lilah Cohen, brother Garry Cooper, sister Gail Markunas (Jeff), and numerous extended family members.Born and raised in Chicago, IL, the son of Herbert and Naomi Cooper, he was a 50-year resident of Decatur, IL. After graduating from Senn High School in 1960, he graduated from Roosevelt University with a degree in Business-Finance and attended law school at DePaul University. After working as an investment banker in Chicago, he moved to Decatur to manage the family business, Decatur Super Liquor. He enjoyed a later-in- life career as a realtor at Brinkoetter & Associates, with his partner in life and business, Judy. Howard was an avid reader, loved brain teasers, studied Mandarin, and was an active member of Temple B’nai Abraham.A memorial and celebration of his life will be held Thursday, December 14 at 1:00 pm at Temple B'nai Abraham. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Temple B’nai Abraham. "
