Homer N. O'Field, 81, of Decatur, died 9:51 PM, Friday, October 26, 2013 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM ,Monday, Oct.28,2013at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo. Vistation will be one hour before service at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo. Memorials have been suggested to the Cerro Gordo Booster Club. Homer was born, October 27, 1931, in Bement, IL, the son of Tivis and Fannie O'Field. He married Marilyn Joanne Miller on July 9, 1955 in Cerro Gordo and she preceded him in death. Mr. O'Field was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Cerro Gordo American Legion. He was employed as a marker for Mississippi Valley Structural Steel. He enjoyed fishing and watching sports. Mr. O'Field is survived by one son, Homer O'Field and wife Sheri of Decatur; grandchildren, Andrea Hamm and husband Jonathan of Peoria, IL, Allison Spillane and husband J. B. Of Vernon, CT; great grandchildren Brock Hamm and Mason Hamm of Peoria, IL. Also preceding in death are his parents and three sisters.
