Hilda L. (Morey) Born, 84, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 1:48 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2011, at St. Marys Hospital, Decatur.Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, at Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family with the arrangements.Hilda was born May 28, 1927, in Decatur, the daughter of Vernon Jesse and Gladys Louise (Smart) Spaulding. She married Merlin Max Born, Sr. on March 23, 1963, in Decatur. He preceded her in death.Hilda was a grocery clerk for 25 years at Dillers Market that was later purchased by Max and Hilda and renamed County Market.Surviving are her children Connie Nance of Joplin, MO, Chris (Dean) Jimison, Merlin Max (Linda) Born, Jr. both of Cerro Gordo, IL, Jerry (Dorothy) Born and Fred Born of Decatur, IL, Ronald A. (Barb) Morey of Argenta, IL, Bonnie Edwards of Virginia Beach VA, Theresa (Darrell) Kraft of Dalton City, IL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother James Spaulding of Decatur, IL.Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Donald Harold Morey, Jr., two grandsons Joshua Nance and Keith Schum, brother Richard Spaulding, and sister Ruth Cunningham.The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Shackelford for the care given to Hilda, and special thanks to her care giver J.R.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com "
