Herbert D. "Ike" Wiggins, 85, of Decatur, IL, went to be with the Lord at 8:26 a.m., Monday, May 12, 2014 at his residence, with his wife and son at his side. His Celebration of Life Service will begin at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Maranatha Assembly of God, Decatur, IL, with visitation 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Full military rites will be at 12:00 noon in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, IL. Ike was born January 18, 1929 in Hammond, IL, the son of Smith and Dollie (Marker) Wiggins. He married Lorraine Ruth Ananias on February 22, 1957 in Decatur, IL. Ike was a member of Maranatha Assembly of God. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as a general signal supervisor in 1986. He enjoyed snow skiiing, boating, and traveling on mission trips with his son. Ike was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran , receiving the Combat Infantryman Badge, 2 Purple Hearts and Bronze Star. He also was a member of V.F.W. and American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lorraine; and son Randy D. (Denise) Wiggins, all of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Ben and Beth Wiggins; sister: Betty Fristoe of Champaign, IL; his best friend Duck Thompson; and various nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Memorials may be made to Maranatha Assembly of God. "
