Herbert Gulick

Herbert D. Gulick, 98, of rural Decatur and lifetime resident of Harristown Twp., Macon County, IL, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Hickory Point Christian Village, Forsyth, IL.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, March 25, at Sharon United Methodist Church, Decatur, with burial to follow at Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur.  Memorials in Herbert’s honor may be made to:  Sharon United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Herbert was born March 7, 1926, the son of Oran R. and Alma L. (Brust) Gulick.  He married Mildred Daisy Collins on April 29,1950 in Decatur, IL, and she preceded him in death on June 15, 2012.

Herbert was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church.  He was a lifetime farmer, and a member of Illinois Soybean Association, serving on its Operating Board from 1988 – 1991, a member of the Corn Belt FS board, and a past active member of Macon County Farm Bureau. Herbert also was a member of Summit Lodge #431 for 70+ years.

Herbert is survived by niece: Beverly A. Carmean; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 62 years, Daisy; sister, J. Helen Romer; brother, Theron O. Gulick; and nephew, Richard D. Gulick.
