Helena Jensen, 105, of Decatur, IL, died 3:43 A.M., Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Fair Havens Christian Home, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Arlington Community Church, Arlington, Nebraska, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, Nebraska. Memorials may be made to Arlington Community Church, 355 N. 4th, Arlington, Nebraska 68002 or Fair Havens Christian Home, 1790 S. Fairview Avenue, Decatur, IL 62521. Helena was born June 25, 1907, in Kennard, Nebraska, the daughter of Henry and Carrie (Schultz) Utermann. She married Howard L. Jensen on March 5, 1927 in Pierce, Nebraska. He preceded her in death in September 1983. Helena was a member of Arlington Community Church. After graduating from Plainview High School, she received her certificate and taught for a total of nine years in a 1 room country school, the last 6 years at the Bluffs school, near Fremont, Nebraska. She was a member of Washington County Extension. She is survived by her children Norm Jensen (Lori) of Decatur, IL, and Warren Jensen (Sarah French) of Norman, OK; grandchildren Kirsten Day (Scott), Drew Jensen, Brenda Jensen, Carla Hamborg (Kelly), Marianne Kremer (Greg), Steven Jensen (Dawn); 12 great grandchildren; sister Verna Helmsing of Foristell, MO.
