Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, September 10, 2009, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL.Memorials may be made to Decatur-Macon County Humane Society or to the family.Helen was born October 3, 1915, in Warrensburg, IL, the daughter of Marion and Matilda (Streich) Boyer. She was formerly married to Harold Clifton and later married John Samples. They both preceded her in death.Helen loved to work crossword puzzles and word scrambles. She enjoyed playing cards and cooking.She is survived by her daughters Mary (Stanley) Blair, and Linda Templeton, all of Decatur, IL; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and 4 step great grandchildren; sister Ruby Dennison of Cisco, IL; daughter-in-law Billie Clifton of Decatur, IL; and her beloved dog Prancer.She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son Robert Clifton, one great grandchild, four sisters, one brother, one son-in-law Sam Templeton.
