Helen Rohm

A Funeral Mass will be 10 AM, Saturday, January 5, 2008, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation will be 6 - 8 PM Friday, January 4, 2008, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with a rosary service at 5:30 PM. Burial will be conducted at St. Marys Cemetery, in Paris, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or St. Judes Childrens Hospital.Helen was born September 26, 1926, in Paris, IL, the daughter of Cyril and Clelah (Brading) Waller. She married William L. Rohm on April 12, 1951 in Paris, IL, and he preceded her in death on May 28, 2004.Helen was a unit manager at Decatur Memorial Hospital and worked there until her retirement. She especially loved her family and children and loved spending time with her grandchildren. . She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and a volunteer at the church food pantry. She also volunteered at St. Marys chapel and Decatur Memorial Hospital.Surviving are her six children, Tom (wife, Sue) Mercer, of Parthenon, Arkansas; Richard Rohm, of Phoenix, AZ; Bill (wife, Teri) Rohm, of Mabank, Texas; Judy Layette, of Lockport, IL; Cindy Hansen, of Decatur; Sharon Rohm, of Decatur; two sisters, Ruth (husband, Connie) Ashley, of Paris, IL; Hazel Smith (twin sister), of Bradenton, FL; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.Also preceding in death are both parents; one brother, Bob Waller; and two sisters, Dorothy Covert and Erma Waller, and one grandson.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com.
