Helen Largent

Helen L. Largent, 96, of Decatur, IL passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 10:30am at the Oreana Baptist Church in Oreana, IL. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 5-8:00pm at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. Burial will be in the Friends Creek Cemetery in Argenta, IL. Helen was born on February 13, 1918 in Cisco, IL the daughter of Alonzo (Lon) F. Sefton and Edith M. (Grandfield) Sefton. She married Harold L. Largent on March 21, 1939 in Elwin, IL and he preceded her in death. Helen was a homemaker who loved gardening, and did cake decorating. She was a member of the Oreana Baptist Church and served as the church pianist. Surviving are daughters Melba Largent of Decatur, IL, and Elaine (husband, Tom) Brunton of Jarales, NM; one sister, Wilma McCammack of Decatur, IL; one son-in-law, Frank Critchelow of Decatur, IL., 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Carolyn Critchelow; two sisters, Twila McCammack and Electa Lanter, and one brother Dean Sefton. Memorials may be given to the Oreana Baptist Church. "
