Helen D. (Stollard) Kush, 89, of Decatur, IL, died 10:45 A.M., Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at her residence. Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 16, 2011, at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to WILL FM Radio Station or to Prairie Ensemble. Helen was born January 4, 1922, in Forest, IL, the daughter of Grant S. and Margaret Pearl (Morris) Stollard. She married Franklin E. Kush on June 11, 1944 in Brimington, WA. He preceded her in death. Helen was a life long member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. After its closing in 2002, she became a member of First United Methodist Church. Helen graduated in 1943 from Decatur Macon County School of Nursing. She formerly worked at Woodland Nursing Home in Mt. Zion and Americana Nursing Home. Helen was a member of Washington School PTA, an avid traveler across the U.S. and Europe, and was a contributor to WILL FM Public radio station. She is survived by her children Michael (Debra) Kush of Burke, VA, Susan (Doug) Easton of Decatur, IL, Jim (Suzy) Kush of Mt. Zion, IL; grandchildren Sarah, Aaron, Allison, Ryan, Andy, Amy, Kate, Erika, Mitchell; 11 great grandchildren; and her little dog Duncan.
