Helen L. Cotner, 94, of Decatur, IL, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Imboden Creek Living Center, Decatur, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.Helen was born October 12, 1923, in Irvington, IA, the daughter of Raymond and Genevieve Gertrude (Durbin) Seifert. She married Junior Morris Cotner in April 1961 in Carlinville, IL.Helen was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was a licensed cosmetologist at New Art Beauty Salon as well as operating a salon in her home.She is survived by her children Alan Bower of Palm Coast, FL, Kathleen Bower (Carl Holt) of Decatur, Steven (Marcia) Bower of Raleigh, NC, Anne (Gene) Watts of Decatur; 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons Michael Cotner and Bradley Bower, brothers Dwain and Dwight Earl Seifert, and grandson James Cotner.The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Imboden Creek Living Center for their loving care of mother.
