Hazel Patterson

Hazel M. Patterson, 94, of Niantic, passed away at 6:49 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2016.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 24, at 11:00 a.m. in Niantic United Methodist Church, Niantic, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Berea Cemetery, Mt. Auburn, IL. Memorials may be given to Niantic United Methodist Church. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, is assisting the family with arrangements.Hazel was born July 4, 1922 in Niantic, IL, the daughter of Henry Calvin and Minnie Celeste (Brannock) Knisley. She married John Owen Patterson on September 7, 1940 in Kentucky and he preceded her in death. Hazel was a member of the Niantic United Methodist Church.She is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Landgrebe of Woodson, IL and one son, Randy Patterson of Niantic, IL; daughter in law, Sheila Patterson; grandchildren, Paula Lane, Cheryl Braden, Mike (Janet) Patterson, Chris Patterson (fiancée Deanne), Mandi (Ray) Karvis, Rikki Andreas, Melissa Patterson and John (Laura) Shafer; six step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and special friend, William Turner of Decatur, IL.Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; two sons, Rick and Ron; one daughter, Darline; two brothers Dale and John and one sister, Bernice.
