Haskell M. (Duke) Shook, 82, of Decatur, passed away at 7:55 a.m. Sunday, October 20, 2013, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 25, in Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Garver Brick Church. Duke was born March 5, 1931, in Atwood, IL, the son of Haskell and Geneva (Dukeman) Shook. He married June Jackson in September 1983, in Decatur. Duke was a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired from Caterpillar as Project Manager after 35 years of service. He was a member of Caterpillar Retirees Club and a 60 year member of the Cerro Gordo American Legion #117, and was a former member of the Moose. Duke was a fan of all sports. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, June of Decatur; children Marilyn Snoke of Decatur, IL, Carolyn Peters of Idaho, Brian Shook and wife Chris of Cerro Gordo, IL, Dennis M. Jackson and wife Jae of Decatur, IL, and Cheryl Lehman and husband Ron of Texas; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and brother Jack Shook of Mattoon, IL. Duke was preceded in death by his parents, step-son Ronald, and brother Donnie. "
